Grand Piano

Greg Millette, Pianist

Greg is excited to offer his teaching and playing services to the metro Atlanta area and beyond, bringing 30+ years of experience in a wide array of musical venues to bear for your learning and enjoyment.

Greg began his music studies with Ms. Karen Cummings in Tifton, Georgia. During high school, he played regularly for Saturday evening mass at his church. Continuing his studies at Valdosta State University under Dr. Larry Scully, Greg graduated with a Bachelor of Music - Piano Performance degree in 1996. In addition to performing the classical literature at school, Greg also found joy in the music of the church and the music of the theater. In addition to the music itself, he began to realize a love of teaching music in these settings. Whether leading a children's choir at church or coaching the lead voices in a community musical, Greg found great enjoyment in helping others find enjoyment in music.

Greg has played and led music at a number of churches for almost 30 years. He is currently the director of music ministries at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia, where he plays piano and leads the choir. He has also played for churches in the Georgia towns of Johns Creek, Rome, Jackson, Valdosta and Tifton. Greg is comfortable playing and leading in both traditional and contemporary worship styles, and he is prepared to teach a broad spectrum of Christian music - everything from classic hymns to the most current worship songs.

Greg's theater experience began at Lowndes County High School (Valdosta) as pianist for a production of Godspell. Finding a new niche in the theater, Greg quickly followed this show as pianist for a community production of Anything Goes and a college production of West Side Story. In the years since, he has served as music director, vocal coach and/or pianist for about thirty productions including Company, Camelot, Little Shop of Horrors and Annie.

In addition to the church and the theater, Greg has also worked as a recital accompanist for both singers and instrumentalists; a pianist for weddings, receptions and other events; and director/pianist for a community chorus. Greg has also dabbled in composing and arranging music for the church.

Greg lives in Alpharetta with his wife Denise and son Andrew. He and his wife enjoy cooking together, watching quiz shows, and singing together. Greg and Andrew like to head to the Waffle House regularly for Saturday breakfast to play video games at home (which, sadly, Andrew usually wins).
